The Department of Architecture offers a five-year professional architectural education program, with a degree accredited by the Ministry of Education and the Examination Yuan, qualifying graduates to take the national architect examination in Taiwan. Since its establishment, the department has been structured within the School of Design, differing from the traditional engineering-based architecture programs in Taiwan, which often emphasize the engineering aspects of architecture. Our department places a special emphasis on architecture as a creative discipline, aiming to broaden architectural education in Taiwan by fostering a multidisciplinary and diverse approach to creative work. Consequently, our faculty primarily consists of professionals with backgrounds in architectural design and cross-disciplinary creation, distinguishing our faculty composition from other architecture departments that focus more heavily on research-based backgrounds.
